







MeshGarage is an offline 2D board for working with 3D content, designed for artists and developers who deal with large collections of 3D assets.
The idea came from a simple problem: on large projects, or when working with a lot of 3D models and 2D concepts, reviewing, comparing, and navigating hundreds of assets quickly becomes inconvenient in traditional 3D software, where everything exists inside a single shared 3D space.
In MeshGarage, each model is placed on the 2D board inside its own invisible, independent 3D space. The card or container itself is not visible. Only the 3D model is displayed on the board. At the same time, some parameters can be shared across the entire board. Lighting, for example, can be common to all models, which makes it convenient to compare several assets under exactly the same lighting conditions.
With MeshGarage you can:
• Place large numbers of 3D models on a single board, including both high- poly and textured low-poly assets
• View and rotate each model independently
• Compare 3D models side by side
• Add 2D concepts, images, and references alongside 3D content
• Work with multiple materials and UDIMs
• Visually organize large collections of assets
• Pack the entire board and transfer it as a single archive
The project is currently in beta, and I’m continuing to develop it.
Documentation & Releases
3D rendering is GPU-accelerated. The application is built with Rust + Bevy.
I’m planning to add new features, improve the existing ones, and support additional 3D formats. But the main goal is to keep MeshGarage lightweight, fast, and simple, rather than turning it into another overloaded 3D editor.
